Art for Elementary Home-Schoolers - The Art Garage Austin
Young Artists will be inspired by Springtime and use their creativity to create three very unique artworks in this class. Students can expect to sculpt with wet clay, make a mixed media sculpture and create a mixed media canvas. Musical Improv - Pop Songs Level 1 - Eric Schackne - iO West
Musical improv may seem daunting. Well, imagine your very first few rounds of Hot Spot or Freeze Tag. Did you not die and it got easier? You eventually discover the timing and structure of new forms, which allows you to be more present, creative, and/or funny on stage. Once you learn the simplicity behind improvising a catchy pop song, you may even start to embrace that one team member who loves to break into song at some point every single show. This song workshop will bring you through main aspects of pop sensibility (Memorable Choruses, Supportive Verses, Bridges & Structure). Three weeks culminate in an improvised musical experience that has never been done before and will never be done again - save for your audience members humming your tunes on the way out of the theatre Sessions are led by Eric Schackne, iOwests Music Director and house accompanist. Eric has a breadth of experience spanning teaching/performing/studying improv comedy and songwriting/composing/producing, which provides him a progressive approach to the musical improv niche. This camp is designed for AP Java (including object oriented programming concepts) and is for the students who are planning to take AP computer science or AP java course in high school. This camp will also be helpful for the students planning to take java course in college or planning to go into the computer science related fields. Students will learn the building blocks of Java language and object oriented programming - starting from variables, conditions, loops, arrays and all the way to classes, objects & constructors. Each class will include hands-on activities and student will work on the project based on the topics covered in the class. ** Java is one of the most popular, relevant and in-demand programming language today. Java is used in wide range of applications ranging from Mobile App development & 3D imaging to all the way to business/academic/internet applications. Mythical Marionettes & Show (A.M.) with Ansley Young - Westerly Creek Elementary (Art Room)
Teachers: Ansley Young and Pam Peters lead young artists in creating a fully functional four legged creature marionette from wood, paint, rope and more. After reading and researching myths and fairy tales, kids use their findings to construct a magical being and develop a story to tell. The story will be told in a 10-15 minute performance at the end of the week. We close online registration 24 hours prior to camp start. Red River Valley Fair 2 Day Camp - Red River Valley Fair
The West Fargo Park District, Red River Valley Fair and Bell State Bank are teaming up to offer a 2 Day Camp. Campers will experience the Fair form a new prospective. Each Day will be packed with fun activities, including visiting behind the scene of the Grandstand and barns, check out a carnival ride, complete a special project to take home! New this year to the fair is the Street Beat on the Y94 stage. Street Beat is an high energy drum and dance show for you to sit back and enjoy or dance to the beat of the drums. A snack will be provided each day. Please request t-shirt size on registration form. This is a rain or shine event. Meet at the Schollander Information Building.
