This Boy Scout Ranch Camp was established in 1983. My 14 year old son would not miss signing up for this summer camp. Nestled in over 200 miles of rugged country it is the perfect place to camp and explore nature. Our son liked the diverse topography of the land. Summer Camp 2016 Session 1 - FCC
From the first day to the last campers will choose an instrument, form a band and write an original song to perform for their friends, families and the rock camp community. Each day campers will have instrument instruction, band practice and attend a series of informational, interactive and meaningful workshops. Summer Camp is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with an end-of-session showcase on the following weekend. All campers should bring a lunch, but no instruments are necessary — we provide all the gear! We have changed locations this year and will be operating out of First Christian Church in SW Portland! 503 445 4991
Week III - Dinos Dance - Franciscan Montessori Earth School
NOTE: Three day camp, Wednesday to Friday. Packed with high energy movement and activities to inspire and excite even the most wonderfully spirited child! This beginning tumble class is perfect for children to learn to move using their imagination and creativity! We use the world of dinosaurs to help us focus on strength, balance, endurance, flexibility, and more! 503-760-8220 x253
Period 4 - Woodworking - NBJH Room 116
Incoming 7th and 8th Graders will learn the basic usage and safety of some hand tools, power tools and machinery (routers, drill press, scroll saw, spindle sander, disc sander, palm sander, cordless drill, lathe). All activities will be demonstrated and supervised by Mr. Caris, the current Woodworking teacher at NBJH. Students will choose a project from a list based on their experience. The list will be sent home in the FIRST week of the course. Examples include a cutting board, wood bowl, routed sign, garden tray, gumball machine, and bag toss game. Improve your image making by better understanding that great images come from a series of decisions, not merely impulse and opportunity. In under three hours, participants will see before and after examples of photographs…hearing the challenges behind making each image and the decisions that ultimately brought them to life. Participation in the workshop can be a way for students to either begin their journey of improved image making OR a visual treat after completing steps one and two in the course sequence.
