Spanish - Thurgood Marshall Elementary

Students learn to see the world through a different lens while acquiring language skills and the confidence to use them. Young learners are especially primed for language learning - research shows that students are 70% more likely to gain fluency when they begin in elementary school. We are excited to offer Spanish at Thurgood Marshall this fall with our engaging, research-driven curriculum, taught completely in language. Students learn important, everyday language through exciting thematic units and a wide variety of interactive games, activities, songs and art projects. Fishing for Families - Ned Smith Center for Nature & Art
Join us for a great day of aquatic adventures at the Ned Smith Center! Families are invited to share the joy of fishing with your up-and-coming anglers, while learning about the complex environment of the Wiconisco Creek. Ample time will be dedicated to casting instruction and practice, as well as fishing along the creek. Equipment is provided. All participants must wear closed-toe, hard soled shoes that can get wet. Each child will receive a spin cast reel and rod at the conclusion of the day. Thanks to our program partners Bass Pro Shops, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and Doc Fritchey Chapter of Trout Unlimited, we are able to offer this camp at a reduced fee. Kincaid Adventure Camp-Discovery Week - Kincaid Outdoor Center
Discovery Week- Can you tell the difference between a wolf and wolverine paw print? If not, come learn how to distinguish animal tracks, explore the trails and develop nature photography skills. Session 4 Half Day Seedlings - Hampshire College Farm Center
Seedlings is a 1-week summer camp for 3 and 4 year olds at the Hampshire College Farm Center. A small group of 8 children and an experienced teacher and assistant will gather each weekday for a hands-on exploration of farm and garden life. With the cozy farmhouse sun room as home base, the Seedlings will venture out to the barnyard, the childrens garden, and the larger farm fields and woods for a balance of work and play that meets individual needs. Animal chores, cooking experiments, outdoor games, quiet time, water play, and musical movement will fill our days, allowing the Seedlings to learn and grow together. 413-657-0000
