We believe that art is not just for artists. It is essential for everyone to nurture their creativity in some way. Our instructors are hand picked for their skills, talents, and friendly personalities. They are all highly trained and have obtained or are in the process of degrees in Fine Art and/or Fine Art Education. The Orthodox Church in America, on behalf of all Eastern Orthodox Youth Ministry/Camping Departments in America, is delighted to host this Annual Conference in 2016 at St. Seraphim's Cathedral in Dallas, TX. Clergy, campus ministers, youth workers, camp leaders, and volunteers gather every January for fellowship, worship, and continuing education. Summer Camp '16 is just around the corner, don't hesitate to invest in your future, so get registered today. Jr. Camp dates will be July 11-13, ages 8-12. Registration will be $75 and the deadline is July 1st. Any registration received after July 1st will be $100. Our theme this year is "Defenders of the Kingdom". Our camp speaker is Kari Lineberry, she will not disappoint and your kids will leave rejuvenated. Sr. Camp dates will be July 13-16, ages 13-18. Registration will be $150 and the deadline is July 1st. Any registration received after July 1st will be $175. Our theme this year is "Losing my Religion". Our camp speaker will be Isaiah Johnson, his ability to relate with kids will bring a great perspective and your students lives will never be the same. Your West Circle Drive Hy-Vee is offering a series of cooking classes designed to teach teens (age 12-17) essential cooking skills! Each class will feature a different theme. Teens will be able to eat their creations at the end of the class. August 11th: Create your own recipe! Classes will be taught in our DISH classroom by the in-store dietitian and one of our talented chefs. Fees: $25 per class, due on date of registration. CAMP DETAILS Musical Theater: Featuring Songs from Matilda Jump into the extraordinary world of Matilda and experience Roald Dahls much loved story come alive through music! Join the precocious Matilda on her journey of overcoming obstacles at home and school and realizing the great power she has within! Students will explore songs and scenes from this heartwarming story and share them at an end of week performance! Children spending the full day with us should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break at the park Seussical Jr Boot Camp Oh the things you can think when you think about Seuss! In this Seussical Jr Boot Camp, well have fun rehearsing songs and scenes from this all time favorite musical and hone your audition skills. Whether you just love this show or you want to get a jump start on preparing for your audition for our August production of SEUSSICAL, JR this camp is for you! Class Objective: Students will be provided tools to transform their concept sketches into fully fleshed out artistic creations. This course is designed to improve reading ability in comprehension, speed, and vocabulary. The required summer reading book from the appropriate grade level will be the text. Students will have the opportunity to take the summer reading assessment at the end of the course. They will not have to take the assessment in the fall. Taught by Mr. Chris Kiehn.
