SummerART at Van Vleck, Ages 5-7 - Van Vleck Education Center
Screen Shot 2016-03-08 at 12.10.58 PM [] SummerART Camp at Van Vleck 9:30am to 1:45pm Session II: July 11 to July 22 Campers will create works of art inspired by the abundant plant and animal life found in the garden. From butterflies and beetles, to birds and buttercups, and more! Flora and fauna abounds in this secluded historic garden; there is so much to explore! Camp will be held outdoors when weather permits, as well as in Van Vlecks spacious and air conditioned Education Center. SummerARTs fantastic teaching artists will teach camp sessions, and projects will include a variety of fine art materials and methods such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and more. Students will have the opportunity to exhibit their work and celebrate what they have learned with family and friends at a closing reception held at the end of each session. BROADWAY AND TV STAR – RACHELLE RAK is back for her signature SAS Class. Rachelle has been offering this incredible class at Broadway Workshop for the last 5 years, leaving parents and students raving. We see such amazing growth from students who are part of Rachelles classes we bring her back time after time. Students in this class will gain confidence in their dance abilities and work on putting their best self forward in the dance classes and auditions. Girls Sports Camp - Leaders-in-Training Program - Germantown Friends School
The Girls Sports Camps Leaders-in-Training Program combines a classic counselor-in-training program (focused on assisting younger campers) with leadership training activities. Under the direction of GFS Physical Education Department Director, Deb Brackett, training sessions will address such questions as, How do you know when to lead and when to follow? What are your emerging strengths as a leader? What makes an activity fun for campers? Are you prepared to handle unexpected situations? Can you take on the responsibility of leading warm-ups, cheers and other activities? Do you know what it takes to become a successful athlete yourself? LIT Program participants will work directly with campers and support both the camp director and the senior counselors in the daily activities of Girls Sports Camp. Get ready for a week of fun, adventure and sports! Go Tigers! ROAR! Swims at the Germantown Cricket Club add to the summertime fun! This camp is open only to GFS students. In Coyotes warm shop, youll learn to use bench-top torches to make custom glass art – beads, pendants, marbles, and miniature sculptures – all starting-off points to gain skills and to experiment with shapes, colors and surface treatment. 3D Game Design w/ Unity - The Digital Arts Experience
Ever wanted to learn how to make 3D games? Join us in this unique class that will show you how to build an awesome platformer using a free game design program! First students will create all of their game assets in Blender, an animation and modeling program. These assets will then be imported into Unity, a free development tool and game engine. Students will learn the basics of game development & level design and how to use Unity to build a game from the ground up.
