Victory Park Camp Group C 5th week Jul 11 - Jul 15 - City of Pasadena
This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.Join one of Pasadenas most popular summer camps! Victory Park Camp has earned its longstanding reputation as a high-quality, fun, affordable, enriching program. Each day begins with a morning pep rally that sets the stage for an action-packed day. Activities include outdoor play, dance, arts and crafts, including painting, sculpting, lanyard making and chalk drawings, fitness activities and enrichment. Enrichment classes include health, hygiene and first aid instruction, cooking classes, computer and robotics play and specialized sports instruction in tennis and golf. Campers spend at least two hours daily doing physical fitness in the form of choreographed dance, group games, fitness competitions, team sports and supervised free play. Campers are escorted across the park to Pasadena High Schools swimming pool for recreational swim two times per week. Camp counselors go into the water with the campers and well-trained, certified lifeguards are always present. Before entering the pool, campers receive a water safety lesson. Back to School Boot Camp: Second and Third Grade CurriculumGet your mind and body fit for the school year with this unique experience. Join Mr. Chad Hamilton and Mr. Ben Spencer, both credentialed teachers, for their Back to School Boot Camp! The program combines academic tutoring and athletic activities. Reading, writing, and math skill building will be alternated with athletic activities to prepare incoming second, third, fourth, fifth & sixth graders. All curriculum will be aligned with Common Core Standards. Students will be given optional homework, needed literature and academic materials. Parents will be given an opportunity to share their childs needs prior to the camps introduction so curriculum can be individualized. Students will use the athletic activities and games to guide academic projects. Think calculating averages, graphing and sport related literature.
