Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you have to stop your morning and evening prayers! Actually, our daughter is the one who reminded us of that and it was just one of the wonderful lessons she brought home from her time at Park River. Aside from the bible study which she was really engaged with, her favorite thing was the cast iron cooking lessons. Teen Empowerment & Survival Camp Summer 2016 - Tucson, AZ
This camp is designed specifically with teenagers’ safety and well-being in mind. As parents, we want our teenagers to be safe, but we also want them to grow up feeling comfortable with themselves, having a healthy self-esteem and self-image. This means equipping them with the skills and knowledge to assess and deal with both physically and psychologically threatening situations. Safety at school cannot be overstressed. Since this where our teenagers spend a large majority of their day regularly, the probability of their being exposed to, or involved in, dangerous or unhealthy situations is extremely high. Whether it’s an outside threat that poses a danger to the entire school, or a fellow student whose words and actions are psychologically damaging to an individual, our teenagers should know how to assess and act before, during, and after an event. Prairie View Christian Camp and the Sold Out Youth Group will be holding a paintball tournament on September 17th starting at 9 AM for ALL AGES. A gun, a mask, unlimited CO2, 500 rounds of paintballs, LUNCH, and a full day of fun all for only $20! Please come join us!! Anyone who needs a ride to the tournament can meet at the Wellington Free Will Baptist Church at 1219 N. Plum St. in Wellington and we will leave the church at 8 AM.

UCLA UniCamp is a tradition at UCLA that is entering its 81st summer of camp. The session I will be attending this year (Session 2) is during June 25- July 1. Every year there are hundreds of under-served children that may not be dreaming of a bright future. Help us provide these kids with the tools to change their stars and give them the chance to dream big and succeed! All proceeds from this event go towards sending under-served youth to camp this summer. Purple Pride Flag Football Camp (6-8 Grade) - Piedmont High School
In a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment, campers will learn all components of football including dynamic stretches, offense, defense, and special teams. Campers will learn the fundamentals of throwing, catching, running, kicking, and punting, as well as speedwork and coordination (attributes that transfer to all sports). All campers will participate in lead-up games, positional and individual work, and team games, concluding with 7 on 7 games. The camp is designed to improve a child?s skill, regardless of skill level. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This program is designed for participants in 6th-8th grade. Please bring a snack and water bottle and wear athletic clothing and shoes. Medical waiver form will be sent by email before camp begins. 5 Day Intro to programming camp. (Girls and Boys ages 8 to 12) Has your child mastered the remote control, tablet and smartphone? They play games, watch movies and DVR their favorite TV shows. Your little genius may have even remembered your App Store password. But, have you ever wondered how to get them interested in learning more about the technology behind all their favorite devices? The URPLE camp was designed to address that specific challenge in a fun, engaging and entertaining way. In this camp, your child will learn the basics principles of computing. In our hands on workshop they will build and customize their very own Raspberry Pi computers. While a lot of fun, this learning toy is a full-blown Linux based computer that your child will learn the fundamentals of programming on. Using graphical programming languages, theyll use code to customize their own Minecraft Worlds and use Scratch to create their own games, animations and stories. Along the way, students will express their creativity through technology, learn valuable problem solving skills and have fun in a collaborative environment.
