In this class designed exclusively for young developing minds, students get to follow in his footsteps by engaging in a variety of stimulating activities that cut across a wide range of disciplines. Tool use, building and engineering, chemistry and biology, art and design, spontaneous improvisation, and healthy dose of brain and body play are all mixed together to form this experience. Each activity will last anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes as students move from one subject to the next while making new discoveries about the diverse world around them. Ceramics 6 - Learn to Throw - Artists Exchange
Build your skills with a week of camp devoted to the pottery wheel. Start by throwing the basic cylinder form and turning it into a functional bowl or vase. Add some character to the plates and cups you use every day with interesting surface techniques and glaze. Ceramics camps allow children to immerse themselves in clay studio studies ranging from basic hand building, wheel throwing, and sculpting. Campers will learn a variety of skills designed to fit the camp they are in. Ceramic focus campers will learn the technical aspects of recycling, slab work, build a simple kiln from a metal trash can and firing pottery in it. All under the guidance of a professional potter and the fire department. Clay adventures offers a beginners taste of experimenting with clay.
