INSTRUCTOR: CALLEN ZIMMERMAN Textiles for Teens is a gallery-based program at the Brooklyn location of the Textile Arts Center. This hands-on class explores students personal artistic interests right in the midst of our Artist in Residence studios, and will provide full access to our dye lab, screen printing facilities, sewing machines, looms, & more. Students will be able to draw inspiration from the eight resident artists and designers evolving work in fine arts, fashion design, and home textiles, and gain insight into the endless possibilities within the world of textiles. This is the third year that our girl has spent the full two weeks at Piomingo. The big difference is that this year she is going back as a counselor in training. We're very excited that she was given the opportunity to step up in a leadership position. The camp is open to non-members, so a great time to try out martial arts, it's a drop off camp for kids ages 5 and up so let them have some fun while you shop or relax ;). Do you want to be a SUPER STAR? Come perform songs from some of the most famous "Idols" in History. Learn how artist such as Elvis Presley and The Beach Boys impacted music forever. Sing classic songs like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “New York New York”. And of course we will be including some recent tween Idol songs as well. Sing OUT, Sing LOUD, Sing PROUD! We will have 4 different 1-week sessions this summer (please see event photo above for all dates).
