This is the third year that our girl has spent the full two weeks at Piomingo. The big difference is that this year she is going back as a counselor in training. We're very excited that she was given the opportunity to step up in a leadership position. Taught by Villas own Chef Rick, sharpen your culinary chops two ways this summer - each day will include an interactive meal-making session AND a daily in-class competition using one of our featured courses, with the recipe winners selected by your peers. Taught by Rick Richards, everyone is a winner with a take-home dinner for four! We will focus on kid-favorite dishes that the whole family can enjoy, prepare them fresh daily, and send them home with easy serving instructions and recipes for at-home repeats. For children entering 3rd or 4th grade: Each day, students will attend six periods with a fifteen-minute recess and snack after third period. They will attend four intellectually stimulating and fun-filled classes including: Brain Booster, Adventures in Art, Science Shakedown, and Fun and Fitness. For the remaining two periods, children may choose between On Stage, a performing arts class which spans two periods, or a Keyboarding and Wild About Writing option. SummerART Camp Full Day Pottery Program 9:30am to 5pm Pottery Camp with Fashion Illustration Session III: July 25 to August 5 Pottery Camp This camp is for children who are interested specifically in working with clay to create pottery, sculpture, and more. Campers are grouped in age-specific classes (6 to 8, and 9 to 12). Campers will have the opportunity to use the Museums diverse collection of Native American pottery as inspiration. Much of the work created in Pottery Camp will be kiln fired, some will be functional, some will be decorative, and all of it will be treasured for years to come. Students in class will learn the exaggeration and enhancement of the fashion figure by studying a live clothed model. Rock instruments, vocals, songwriting, recordings, and CD design! An action-packed week for boys and girls. No previous experience necessary. Great for campers with Beginning Guitar experience! Campers will bring their own guitar or bass or we provide keyboard or drums. Led by Arts Center faculty in a friendly atmosphere where campers play in a band, learn and write songs, and perform in an All Camp Jam Concert on the final day at 3pm.
