Summer Camp @ La Pintoresca Group A (6-7) - La Pintoresca Park
Neighborhood Park Camp at La Pintoresca Park is a traditional, high-quality camp that is fun and affordable. Activities include arts and crafts, physical fitness games and challenges, dance, visits to the library, enrichment activities and swimming. Campers play basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball. Instruction is also offered in golf and tennis. Campers are escorted to Robinson Park Recreation Centers swimming pool for recreational swim two times per week. Staff go into the water with the campers and certified lifeguards are always present. Fun field trips are often the highlight of the week. Trips are an additional charge and are scheduled for once a week. This camp is a good fit for active campers who like sports and group activities. The ratio of staff to campers is 1 to 10. Campers are grouped by age, and lunch and a snack are provided. Camp culminates in the annual ?War Games? in which Washington Park Camp and La Pintoresca Park Camps compete in a series of challenges to determine an annual camp champion. Art for Home Schooled Students - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
New students welcomed! Art classes for home-school students continues with instruction intended to guide new art students while challenging returning students to build on their skills. Students will split the time between explorations in Realistic Drawing and Painting and 3/D Art and Pottery. The group will be divided by age dependent on the number of students. Form a team to face the challenge of our extreme expedition camp. Search the globe for bricks and other resources needed to construct a base in the Himalayan Mountains and complete your expedition. Encounter Worst Case Scenario survival challenges, face forces of nature, and construct transportation equipment to bring your team together from around the globe. SKATEBOARD CAMP WITH AMBUSH BOARD CO. - Swift-Cantrell Park
Learn the basics of skateboarding from the experts at Ambush Board Co. Be introduced to skateboarding with others of similar skills, age, and experience level - from getting started, safety, and park etiquette to ollies, flip-tricks, and grinds. Discover skateboarding culture, learn new tricks, and become part of the skateboard community. Supplies: Campers should bring plenty of water and a snack each day. Campers should bring their skateboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads if they have them. Equipment will be available for those who need to borrow it. All campers should arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied, as well as with additional sunscreen, as needed. We recommend a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
