Latest Review for Camp Ondessonk

Overall, it's a good camp but I would NOT recommend this camp to anyone with dietary restrictions.

Its rich ecosystem and untouched natural beauty have supported native peoples for centuries. In conjunction with the epic itinerary, this trip, "The Leader Within", focuses on where authentic, integrity-based, compassionate leadership is sourced. We are craving the new leaders of the world to truly know themselves, see and appreciate the gifts of others, and help weave the web of harmonious community. 5412614959.0

1. Session I - Morning - UA College of Fine Arts
Visual Arts: Abstract Expressionism exploded onto the art scene after World War II. Rather than follow the tame methods from the Old World, these young bohemians applied paint in a dramatic and experimental manner. Find out why Jackson Pollock was known as "Jack the Dripper" and how Willem de Kooning swashbuckled loaded brushes with colliding garish colors. Youll be dripping, smearing, slathering, and flinging your way to incredible artwork! Puppetry: The stars of several popular 1940s TV shows were inanimate objects. Hmmm… how could that be? They were puppets like Howdy Doody, Kukla & Ollie and their friends that created a make-believe world, entertaining children and adults alike! Design your own puppet and perform for your friends and family while learning the magic of this ancient yet enduring art form. 5203190400.0

Global Inventors - Middle School
Have your child join us on an adventure to transform the world as we know it! Students will learn about one of the most innovative technologies of our time - 3D Printing - and how to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to create and print (and take home) a series of awesome designs! But why not use these skills for social good? Every lesson, students will exchange video messages with their sponsored partner student who lives in a developing country - together, they will come to identify and learn about a global issue, and then collaboratively design, print and test an invention to help solve that issue! Students will come to master the Engineering Design Process and basic electrical engineering while also learning about their partner student and their partner students country. (516) 750-3104
