Kids Summer Camp week 1 - Spirit of the Horse Stables
Spring horse camps great for kids to build character and increase their knowledge of horses while having a great time and making friends. Our groups are small in order to provide more one on one teaching. All campers will enjoy learning to tack their horse, riding, grooming, bathing and caring for their horse. We will have daily arts & crafts that they can take home. Campers will also enjoy additional fun activities, and be able spend more time with the horses. All campers will have activities tailored toward their age & experiences. For girls and boys ages 5 - 18 years old. Beginner- Advanced riders welcome. Week 3: Forensics - The MacDuffie School
Forensic science draws from foundations in biology, chemistry and physics. Campers will learn how to solve crimes by recognizing, collecting, and analyzing physical evidence commonly found at crime scenes. From fingerprinting to blood-typing, campers will learn practical skills and achieve a greater understanding of the role physical evidence plays in court proceedings. 3A. Summer Camp - Build Your Own Adirondack Chair - 4 Days - Gizmos & Gadgets Kids Lab
What could be more suited to summer than an adirondack chair! In this camp you will use the systems engineering process to plan, design, then build just the right size adirondack chair for you. During this process kids will not only be taught how to use tools safely but also develop their woodworking skills by using real tools and learning all about the designing process. Field Hockey - Wellington Gym
Welcome to Portledges first field hockey camp! The program will be run by two of the Locust Valley field hockey coaches, Karissa McGrory and Tammy Caramico. Your athlete will need a field hockey stick, mouthguard, shinguards, cleats, and goalie equipment (if you are a goalie!). Session 1 is for any girl looking to love the sport of field hockey. The session will focus on beginner skills such as stick work, shooting, positions, and offense vs. defense. Girls will learn the proper stick skills learned to become a future field hockey star. In addition to learning the proper sportsmanship skills needed to become a well rounded athlete. We recommend athletes joining us for the first session are new players ranging from grades 3-9. Session 2 is for any advanced athlete looking to get ready for preseason and the fall school season. It is recommended that girls are interested in playing on the JV and Varsity level. Athletes during this session will work on expanding their knowledge of the sport, increasing stick skills, and working on specific offense and defensive skills to push athletes to the next level!
