10 am sign up at the mark. $20.00 driver $10.00 rider. Ride leaves at noon on a scenic route to the Dowagiac Moose and then back to playland hall on Nickerson Ave. Lunch and dinner supplied. Cash bar. Door prizes and silent auction. We want to make this one of the largest events we have done for MDA and send as many kids to camp as we can at no charge to them. History Comes Alive with Classical Theater - Wizard of Oz - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
This is a truly unique course especially designed for the home-schooled that incorporates history, literature, and performance. This classic novel/play will be interpreted and performed as students discuss the playwright and the time in which the author lived. History comes alive as students also create living portraits of imaginary and real characters during that period of history. The Wizard of Oz is a beloved classic. A cyclone carries Dorothy and her dog, Toto, to the magical land of Oz, where they encounter all the famous characters from the pen of L. Frank Baum... Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Woodsman, the rubber-legged Scarecrow, Glinda the Good Witch, Oz, Munchkins, Winged Monkeys, The Witch of the North, and the evil Witch of the West, who is determined to destroy Dorothy and steal the secret of her magical slippers. Join Blue Compass Camps for an exploration of the Beautiful Olympic Peninsula this Spring Break. We will hike, explorer history, visit the beach and the mountains. This trip will be as varied as the Olympics itself. We will spent time exploring coastal towns, majestic beaches and stepping into the rain forest around the Hoh River. As is the case with all Blue Compass Camps outdoor adventures: 1.) Our Goals, beyond having ridiculous amounts of fun with newly made friends, are to help develop social and self confidence while providing an exciting, challenging and unforgettable adventure experience. 2.) Our Staff support teens through compassionate strength-based perspectives, believing every adolescent has many gifts and unique qualities to offer.
