FCYD Camp is proof positive that being diagnosed with diabetes means you have to live a sheltered life. We tried to tell that to our daughter all the time but she never really embraced the idea until she found herself surrounded by kids in her same situation. Boys and girls will have a ton of fun in our Kid-on-the-Go Sewing Camp! They will learn to sew several fun items to carry all their necessities when they are out-and-about this Spring Break! Cost is $175, all materials included. Ages 8 & up. We have sewing machines and tools, but students are welcome to bring their own. Class takes place Tuesday-Friday, March 13-18 from 1-3 p.m. Projects: Drawstring backpack, zipper pouch, pocket wallet/change purse, and a sunglass case or tissue pack cover. Children's Yoga Camp: August 22-26th For children ages 7 & up, tweens & teens welcome! All yoga experience levels welcome! Yoga is very beneficial for children's overall health and development. While the emphasis is upon mobility and agility for the younger ages, gradually the postures are improved and perfected. Join us for a daily quickly-paced playful class of yoga asanas (postures), yoga story time about sages, postures, and ethical precepts of yoga (yama and niyama) that will enrich children's understanding and experience of the background of yoga followed by an art and writing activities that will reinforce learning of the sanskrit (the language of classical yoga, which is taught and practiced in the yoga asana class) and english translations of the classical yoga posture names and elements of the names. The class will close with some restorative yoga postures and a chant in Sanskrit to come full circle. April School Break - Earth Friendly Science- Club Scientific teams up with KidzArt & Drama Kids - Our Saviors Lutheran School
Dont let your child spend their School Break cooped up indoors…instead let them stretch their minds and creativity with Drama Kids, Club Scientific and KidzArt! This April join us as we go green and celebrate Earth Day and all the wonders of this great planet in our Upcycled Art camp. KidzArt teams up with Drama Kids and Club Scientific in this weeklong camp. Create unique mixed media pieces with found, unusual and recycled materials and assembled with imagination. Experiment with papermaking, watercolor painting, collage and sculpture. Create a functional piece of art that also helps save the planet. Explore the science behind mysteries of nature and eco-friendly things we can do with Club Scientific. Create an original drama performance and build your childs imagination and self-confidence with Drama Kids. We hope you will join us on a journey towards a greener existence. Campers will explore mountain biking, climbing, paddle boarding, sailing, and backpacking. Daily experiences will introduce new and exciting adventures on our 140-acre campus and will be enhanced by customized trips focused on specific skills. This camp will enable young teens to challenge themselves individually and in group situations. Time will be spent on the 14 high and low elements offered on Laurels Project Adventure Ropes Course to help foster creative problem solving, promote leadership and build self-confidence through improved communication skills. Campers will need to come prepared with an adventurous spirit and a desire to have lots of fun! (Campers should have their own bike and be proficient at cycling and swimming). 216-455-0154
