This is a NON-CONTACT sports camp. Each camper will receive positive individual instruction on the game of football. Local 2016 area college football signees along with former Arkansas Razorbacks Clint Stoerner, Tommy Harris, and Matt Harris will be in attendance. Ouachita Baptist University All-American Brent Calhoun, Waymon Johnson, and Dallas Cowboy great Cliff Harris will encourage youth players to work their hardest at the camp. High school athletes, coaches and football staff will work at the camp in order to provide each camper with quality instruction. Each camp session will also deal with the teaching and discussion of character issues such as honesty and sportsmanship. Each camper will get a chance to earn awards at the end of camp day. This is a great opportunity for local young boys and girls to have a great time in a fun camp. Don’t worry parents. There will plenty of water provided… The cost of the camp is $40 per camper. The camp tuition includes all camp activities, a camp T-shirt, hydration station, and lunch. Concession stand will be provided and parents are invited to stay and watch! The Hawks Haven Nest provides our youngest campers with the same quality and diverse program found in our Primary Camp. Campers participate in fun, active, enriching activities that are developmentally appropriate. While these children will not participate in off-campus field trips, we will bring special events and activities to campus just for them! A typical day will include both individual and small group activities with an emphasis on: • Developing social skills • Providing cognitive challenges • Learning to cooperate and function successfully in a group • Exploring • Building self-confidence • Learning to make choices • Developing a love of learning • Character Development • Creative Thinking Every day will include indoor activities writing, painting, cutting, and puzzles and outdoor activities like water fun and great games. Both give your child a chance to develop gross and fine motor skills and include free choice as well as instructor-led activities. The Second City Advanced Comedy Camp is a fully comprehensive program that dives deep into the skills required to present a Second City-style revue. Curriculum includes training in advanced scenework and long form improvisation as well as additional lessons in clowning, stand-up, and music improvisation. Students will also receive a special track jacket as a souvenir of their summer with Second City. Students will present their stand-up material on the second Friday of the program and a one-act sketch revue on the final day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Students must submit the Advanced Comedy Camp application, a resume, headshot/photo, and a short essay to be considered for this program to Students will need to have completed at least two 14-week terms of improv training at Second City or at least two sessions in our summer camp program. For the essay, answer the following question: "Aside from your family and friends, who or what makes you laugh and why?"All materials should be submitted together.
