High School Juniors Preparing for the May 7, 2016 SAT Test The KAPLAN course helps students gain confidence in taking the NEW SAT test while mastering test strategies. The course includes nine (9) classes taught by a qualified SAT teacher, three (3) practice tests, 2015 Kaplan Prep Book, access to Kaplan online prep and a small snack. Nasimco Youth Leadership Retreat 2016 - Fruitland Park, FL
NASIMCO is pleased to announce the 2016 Youth Leadership Retreat with the theme of “Thinking Outside the Box: Making Your Voice Count!” This year the retreat will be held in sunny Orlando, Florida. It is an initiative led by youth with the vision of creating a forum for dialogue to enhance the ability of participants to think outside the box, engage in self-reflection, become socially conscious and have the confidence to act upon it in their local and global communities. This year’s retreat is hosted by the Husseini Islamic Center of Florida, INC. at the Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp in sunny Fruitland Park, Florida. The retreat will combine facilitated workshops, debates, dialogue and recreational activities in order to optimize learning opportunities for all participants. It will take place during the Labour Day weekend, from September 2nd to September 5th, 2016. The intended participants are all youth ages 18 to 25. Registration is USD $200.00 per participant, which includes food, lodging, and ground transportation within Orlando. Spaces at the retreat are limited to 30 participants. This annual leadership training camp is a gathering of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual, allied, and intersex (LGBTQQAAI) designed and created by youth activists and allies who are dedicated to defeating homophobia and transphobia and creating brave, supportive schools for everyone. Camp is driven by young people. This year we are renting a huge camp at Cuivre River State Park with Cabins, Dinning Hall, Firepit and even a pool located just a little over an hour from St. Louis, MO next to Troy, MO. Technique Portion: Coach John Azevedo covers his fundamental inside tie series that he made famous at Calvary Chapel and also at Cal Poly. Also covered: fundamental escapes from the bottom, Recovery and sit outs & Top rides. Intensive Training: Coach Matt Azevedo will once again run our Intensive portion of this session. They will focus on teaching conditioning and weight training along with how to sustain proper nutrition and mental focus at elite levels. What is it like to break the rules...on purpose?! Hip hop has a reputation for rule breaking in dance throughout its history. After all, hip hop was originally used as a peaceful way of creating change in a violent time through inter-city territory wars. In this class, students will learn about the history of hip hop, and how early hip hop created a movement in society towards positive change as we create our own dance of positive change!
