Mixed Media I - Inspired Minds - Studio A
Students are taught step-by-step techniques using pencil, pastel, acrylics, clay, as well as other mixed media, focusing on light/shadow, color, composition, form, and perspective. This is a broad class designed to introduce young students to a wide range of art forms and styles through Art History, encouraging self-confidence and allowing them to find their strengths and interests. 732-530-3444

_7th-9th Grade - Just Write It - Rice University at The Anderson-Clarke Center
This session is designed to get you excited about creative writing. You will write daily and learn about various forms and techniques, including prose, memoir, short stories, and poetry. You will discuss the nuts and bolts of writing, and through fun, interactive writing exercises, youll develop your own voice, be inspired by words, and explore your imagination. Our professional writers and teachers will show you how you can use writing to explore issues that are important to you. At the end of the session, you will share finished pieces in a celebration, and you will take home a portfolio of your own work. 713-523-3877

Congressional Debate Camp - Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy
Are you comfortable with the world as it is or would you like to be an agent of change? In a democratic society, in a business, or in an organized group of individuals, change occurs through persuasion and negotiation. By attending this camp, students will learn the basics of congressional debate and parliamentary procedure. Through a blend of games, discussions, outdoor activities, and practice sessions, they will hone analytical skills, impromptu responses, and speaking abilities. Beginning Electric Guitar Camp Try this camp if you are interested in rocking out on an electric guitar! Terri Jo Jenkins will guide campers through handling and care of your electric guitar and amp, first chord positions, power chords, strumming rhythm and tablature reading, first riffs and applications to songs. The final day will wrap up with a fun, informal performance for family and friends! Music Theater Camp - Ohlook Performing Arts Center
Our most popular camp every summer! We provide a comprehensive program of intensive classes in a wide variety of theater performing arts, each taught by a working professional in that field. Students train for 3 weeks, five days a week, in the 3 disciplines of musical theater - dance, music, and acting in addition to rehearsing a full musical which will culminate in one of our main stage productions. Developing the ability to sustain concentration throughout the process is one of the most important skills that students take away from the program. Along with the daily basic skills work, students will learn and grow attending separate workshops such as audition preparation, bringing songs to life, how to conquer your nerves and life in the business from professionals that are IN the business! This camp is for the serious singing actor. You will work with professionals from the local DFW stages as well as Broadway and Opera!
