Week Eight: Architecture Camp/Building Bridges (Ages 3-6) - PeaPods SchoolHouse
Campers will use STEM and different materials to engineer, design, and build a bridge. After building their bridge, campers will then test their bridge to see if it is strong enough to hold up an object. Together well build a city full of bridges! 603-703-1408

Girls entering Grade 5 in Fall 2016 - Huddart Park
Campers entering grade 5 are grouped in units with girls of their own age/grade and are supervised by trained staff members and program aides. Campers participate in a wide variety of activities including earning badges, hiking, outdoor cooking, learning outdoor skills, crafts, games, singing and more. Girls entering grade 5 in Fall 2016 will spend the night at camp with their unit on Wednesday, July 27., and will participate in Archery (additional waiver form required). Power of Drawing Camp Mornings - Clague Middle School
[] This summer, for our first session of the day, the ALL NEW "Power of Drawing!" summer classes will take you on adventures to places, spaces, and other worlds with specialized drawing workshops. First, we zoom to the farthest reaches of the galaxy with our new friend, Sketch, and his colorful cast of cartoon friends! From astronauts in jetpacks to out-of- this-world alien lifeforms, our students will learn how to compose well-drawn cartoon figures in dynamic poses. Then we tackle a world of monsters, creatures, and creeps - from furry to scaly! For our adventure in Color and Design, each student will create a personalized Japanese kimono, an Escher-like graphic, or a study in primitive art. For the last adventure of the day, all artists will choose either still life drawing or portraiture as a study in technique. We will explore fine art (realistic, stylized, and abstract), graphic design, and cartooning using pastels, colored pencils, and professional marker techniques that will enhance ones analytical and perceptual drawing skills! Following John Feierabends curriculum of First Steps in Music, we will be singing, acting, dancing and creating music. We are literally creating a full-immersion musical experience that can be the ground work for further musical studies, both vocal and instrumental! We will be using dance to both express music and understand lyrics; we will explore both folk and classical music pieces. Additional experiences include acting with puppets & costumes; expressive dance with hand-dyed silk scarves and ribbon sticks; and beginning instrumental play on drums and pitched instruments (xylophones, glockenspiels, ukuleles where appropriate).
