With coaching and equipment resources from the Gymstars Gymnastics, boys will be introduced to the basics of tumbling acrobatics such as rolls, cartwheels, handstands, handsprings, jumps and safety falls, in addition to mini trampoline fundamentals. To round out this program the mini-men will also practice strength, flexibility, coordination, and agility challenges in a fun, age appropriate format. Strong, flexible and fit boys will be assets to any future basketball, football, or soccer teams. Begin here…go anywhere! Prizes and participation trophies will be awarded to everyone on our show off day May 18th, the last 30 minutes of class. Parents are welcome to come watch their child during this time. Week 5 Western Horse Camp - Rose Lake Youth Camp
This new specialty camp offers horse safety, grooming, saddling and western style riding. Campers will learn basic riding instruction, how to take care of their horse and will learn riding skills in the arena along with wooded trail rides. This camp is held in partnership with Center Lake Bible Camp. Ages 10-13, limited to 8 campers. 231 768 4351
KARATE (K-4) THURSDAY 3:30 PM- 4:30 PM - Westminster School
Instruction provided by: Kyle Mitcham Kyle has been teaching karate for over six years, and holds a black belt along with training in various disciplines. Kyles karate offers an after school care program that will first and foremost engage your child in a safe, fun, and exciting class at Westminster school teaching basic skills suited for this age group with absolutely NO student contact. Kyles karate will develop your childs confidence, hand eye coordination, and concentration. Your child will gain improved motor skills, balance, and focus! Through physical activity in the form of exciting martial arts. Respect, and listening skills round out the comprehensive program. Visual Arts Camp - Session 3 - Takoma Park Community Center
Have fun and express yourself through color, shape, drawing and design! Each session includes a new art related theme and group of art processes and activities. Sharpen your drawing skills, explore new materials and exercise your imagination with inspiring art projects. Two hours of drawing in the morning using graphite, pen and ink, colored pencils, charcoal pencils, pastels, oil pastels or conte crayon, etc. followed by two + hours of painting and/or collage and assemblage in the afternoon. Media such as watercolor painting, sumi-e, mixed media painting, texture and found - object assemblage will be explored. Art related movies, access to the game room during the day and outdoor art adventures are all included in what will certainly be a memorable summer experience. All materials included.
