10th Annual Austin Global Youth Peace Summit - Marble Falls, TX
The 10th Annual Global Youth Peace Summit will unite 70 youth (ages 14-17) from 25+ countries for a week-long experience dedicated to personal growth, healing, cultural exchange, leadership development and community building. The 10th Annual Texas Global Youth Peace Summit will take place August 15th-21st, 2016 at Camp Champions in Marble Falls, Texas. The Summit is a place for healing… Some of the youth who attend have experienced traumatic circumstances: extreme poverty, religious persecution, child labor, gang violence, abuse and neglect. Some have witnessed the atrocities of war and have literally run for their lives; many have been uprooted from their native cultures and are struggling to integrate into an entirely foreign world. Students will use the summer school session to work on basic acting skills, and then apply those skills as they rehearse and perform a play for the last day of class. The class exposes students to the dramatic process and gives them an opportunity to apply what theyve learned to a final project. Ocean Life - Art of the Sea (P.M.) with Ansley Young - Westerly Creek Elementary (Art Room)
Teachers: Ansley Young and Pam Peters From puffer fish to starfish, we will make an ocean of fun from giant coffee filters, watercolors, sharpies, tempera paint, watercolors, patterned papers and more. We will engage in conversations about sea animals and read stories about their lives and habitats. Enjoy your childs art when its on display the last day of camp. Max Lax Lacrosse - Wellington Gym
Max Lax is a co-educational sports camp that focuses on introducing children to the sport of lacrosse as well as other cooperative games. Your child will learn the basic skills of lacrosse and participate in different games, which will help with the development of those skills while also having fun. At camp your child will also play different team building and cooperative games such as capture the flag, water balloon team tag, lacrosse baseball, dodge ball and European handball. The campers will also have the opportunity to cool off from the summer sun on the camp favorite: Max Lax Mega Slip n Slide.
