Children with intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoy summer camps as well as anyone else does. My 10 year old son is intellectually delayed. He looks forward to this camp every summer. In fact, he keeps asking us how many days until camp? He likes to swim, make crafts, sing and learn new skills at summer camp. Pre-Teen Improv Camp: Session 2 - Norfolk, VA
This camp is open to children ages 7 to 12. Students will explore the key elements of both long and short form improvisation. The children will play numerous improv games which will serve to develop and enhance their public-speaking, social, and team-building skills. This camp will be conducted in a non-judgmental environment where the students will build confidence, make friends, and most importantly… have fun. Snacks will be provided on a daily basis and there will be a pizza-party for lunch on Friday. The camp concludes on Saturday with all students performing in a graduation show on the stage of the Push Comedy Theater. Each student will receive a Push Comedy Theater T-shirt and be eligible to perform in the 4th Annual Norfolk Comedy Festival in late September 2015.

Students explore electronics, coding, design and fashion as they create wearable technology. Theyll design clothing, interactive toys, and accessories that incorporate advanced electronic technologies. Design a shirt that integrates programming and sensors to monitor your heart rate, a wristband that tracks how many steps taken or calories burned, or light up shoes. Once you understand the basics of circuit design the possibilities are endless. Take home cutting edge gadgets that bring together craft, electronics, and programming. They also learn the art of mosaics while creating a picture frame for a lovable animal. Campers also earn about pottery painting and glazing techniques as they personalize a bowl for their pet. Chicks are fuzzy, cute and loads of fun! Come to the farm to meet the new arrivals, check the incubator for action, and learn about what these chicks will bring to the farm.
