Chewbacchus Kids: Winter Parade Camp - New Orleans, LA
Join the Krewe of Chewbacchus this December break for Winter Parade Camp! Our winter campers learn about the history of Mardi Gras traditions in New Orleans and around the world. They create costumes and throws, and build their own shoebox float. At the end of the week, we throw an awesome parade and party with our Chewbacchus kids and families. Camp is held at Castillo Blanco Art Studios, 4321 St. Claude Ave, New Orleans, LA. Come to our "YouthPass to the Future" Campaign Kick-Off! OPAL's multi-racial youth program, Youth Environmental Justice Alliance, is organizing a community event to raise awareness about a campaign to sustain and expand the YouthPass program in Portland. Our goal for the campaign is to show the city, TriMet, our schools, and our community that affordable public transportation is important for youth to lead healthy lives, be able to thrive, and be successful. The youth-led event will officially launch our campaign and engage with community members and decision makers, especially in East Portland neighborhoods. There will be educational booths about transit justice, powerful youth testimonies, and cool performances! YouthPass to the Future Campaign: We want all high school students in Portland to be able to go to school and access opportunities that prepare them for success. Transit is an educational right! Dutch 4 vs 4 offers talented players the opportunity for an international soccer experience with the guide of Dutch professionals. The focus is on identifying talented soccer players and guiding them with guaranteed top-level training in a professional learning environment. Participants will show their skills in a 4v4 formation. Games will be organized in a tournament setting. Selected players will be invited to attend a special one week training program in the Netherlands, with the possibility to be identified for a development training program. Camp Recycle - NOLA Spaces
In this camp your young artist will learn to reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle. Campers will be given the opportunity to develop their artistic skills and engage with their peers while making original artwork with everyday objects. In theater new spins will be put on old tales. The dance and music classes will build on already acquired skills and turn them into new choreographed works and compositions.
