XLR8 Athletix would love for your child to join us for a fun filled week involving education on health and fitness, exercise movements, nutrition, fun activities, and lots of new friendships. Our coaches and staff are thoroughly trained and Certified Trainers who provide a safe and fun environment that guarantees success for all ability levels. During each session we will learn and practice functional movements involving exercises that are fundamental to all things that kids need to do when they play: pull, push,run, throw, climb, lift and jump. Opti 2 Session 3 - Annisquam Yacht Club
Opti 2 - Sailing, Tennis, & Seamanship ( Intermediate ) Eligibility AYC Jr Sailing is open to all children regardless of membership status. Admittance in the 2s class is based on their ability and performance in Opti 1s, and demonstration of adequate swimming skills for safety purposes. Or beginners in the Opti 2 age range, 10-12. Sailing The Opti 2 Sailing class builds on the 1s mastery of the basic skills of sailing. Participants will work on developing advanced sailing skills. A Opti 2 sailor will be able to master basic knots, have a strong understanding of the parts of the boat and sail and their effects on powering and de-powering the boat. Sailors will have a constant awareness of the wind, be able to trim for different points of sail and conditions, have an awareness of body position relative to wind and wave conditions, and consistently use tiller extension. Combining craft with technology is a fun way to express interests and personality and the possibilities are endless. Through this camp, participants will sew with conductive thread and use LED lights to create a functioning piece of technology! Taekwondo (TKD) is an ancient Korean martial art that can be learned by anyone, at any age. TKD will teach you valuable self-defense skills and will increase your energy and self-confidence as you see your health improving at the same time!
