The campers will build with something different every day in the Makerspace, including Legos, littleBits, Knex, Straws and cardboard. Depending on the product used to build, the children will bring either their creation or a picture of what they built home with them. Although the emphasis will be on building from their imagination, there will be different prompts each day, such as to build an animal or a piece of furniture. Guard Basics is the first of 3 programs under the Guard Development Series. Designed to help athletes develop the skills needed for a guard to be successful, both mentally and physically. Guard Basics will focus on Guard role and responsibilities, ball handling, passing, change of direction, bait and pass, shooting, etc. Each player will understand spacing, handling pressure and attacking the rim. Once players complete this program they will be able to enroll in the second program under the Guard Development Series - Playing the Position. Program consists of 6 - 1 hour sessions. For high school players only. This 1-day camp will focus on the elements of the game that are critical to the libero/defensive specialist. These include serve receive, digging, pursuit, and serving as well as defensive systems and positioning. This camp is also appropriate for front row players who wish to play all 6 rotations.
