Ice Hockey Camp - Cabin John Ice Rink
Prerequisite: Passed Hockey 2 or equivalent. If your child loves hockey, why not treat them to a 5-day hockey camp? Well focus on skating, stick handling and off-ice fitness; and incorporate elements of power skating, passing and shooting, and games to make this a fun-filled week! Plus, each camper will receive a complimentary hockey jersey! Players will be assigned to groups according to their skill level. Full gear required: Caged helmet, curved stick cut to skaters height, shin guards, elbow and shoulder pads, hockey gloves and pants, cup, and hockey skates. Rental hockey skates are available. Please bring sneakers for off-ice workouts, snack, and a water bottle. Cross Country Camp Grades 6-8 - Dicken Elementary
Grades 6-8 Cross country running is a wonderful sport! This four day camp includes instruction on proper warm up and stretching, running technique, racing strategies and basic training. Campers do not have to have any prior running experience. All levels welcome. Athletes need to bring athletic shoes/apparel and water. Ceramics 6 - Learn to Throw - Artists Exchange
Build your skills with a week of camp devoted to the pottery wheel. Start by throwing the basic cylinder form and turning it into a functional bowl or vase. Add some character to the plates and cups you use every day with interesting surface techniques and glaze. Ceramics camps allow children to immerse themselves in clay studio studies ranging from basic hand building, wheel throwing, and sculpting. Campers will learn a variety of skills designed to fit the camp they are in. Ceramic focus campers will learn the technical aspects of recycling, slab work, build a simple kiln from a metal trash can and firing pottery in it. All under the guidance of a professional potter and the fire department. Clay adventures offers a beginners taste of experimenting with clay. Camp Whetstone Session 5 - Whetstone Community Center
Here at Camp Whetstone our mission is simple...for kids to have a safe, fun, learning experience each and every week. Each week we will have a new theme that will correlate with the different activities and programs scheduled. Our campers always look forward to the large variety of field trips every summer, which could include: the Columbus Zoo, Zoombezi Bay, Columbus Clippers game, ice skating, Metro Parks, gem mining and swimming at Tuttle Pool. (Some events and trips may require an additional fee to be paid, in cash, at the beginning of each week.) So, lets make new friends and lifelong memories together, at the always exciting, Camp Whetstone! Theme: Health & Safety Flexible drop off time between 7:15-9 am.
