Teen Writing Matters - A Summer Writing Camp! - Grass Valley, CA
July 6-10 One Session ONLY. Monday – Friday, 1 to 4PM Class limit 20, minimum 8 Students need to bring paper and pens Minimum age: 13 $200 members, $225 non members Will we sing campfire songs? No. Will we write similes about the smell of a campfire, or lengthy descriptions of that one camp counselor who wears knee socks and a fanny pack? Perhaps. Join Kirsten Casey for five days of writing delight: creating poetry, characters, flash fiction pieces, and more. We will write everyday from 1-4 using a variety of prompts, strengthening our attention to detail, sharing our work, and eating candy. Kirsten Casey400Kirsten Casey is a local California Poet in the Schools, who has been teaching creative writing to students in the area for over ten years. She earned her Masters in Creative Writing from San Francisco State, and you can find her work in the anthology Yuba Flows, and her own book of poetry, Ex Vivo: Out of the Living Body. Learn to think quickly on your feet and act from the top of your head in this fun, silly, and engaging class. Play and perform favorite short form improv games, including those seen on TVs hit show Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Students gain confidence in public speaking, expressing themselves using their body and voice, and facing fears of stage fright and performance anxiety. Jump in, be big and bold, laugh, and learn the basics of acting through the wild, wonderful world of improvisation! No experience necessary; come one and come all. Class culminates in an original improv show for family and friends; written, created, hosted, and performed by the students. (No materials required aside from your imagination.) NOTE: No class on 5/30 or 6/6. 401-490-9475

The Herders are 7 and 8 year olds who are ready to work in the farm fields harvesting produce, cutting flowers, and exploring life on the farm along with our traditional camp activities in the garden, tending the animals, crafting, and cooking. 413-657-0000

Ages: 5-8 Description: A 4-day, 2 1/2 hours per day camp. Emphasis is on improving your skills and an introduction to playing on the golf course. Clubs are available. (916) 808-2531

The Full Day Camp is designed for beginning to intermediate players. If you have a 4-7 year old, we recommend the half-day camp which runs from 9:00-12. However, if you feel your child is up to the full day session, we will accept him or her. The focus of this camp is on fundamental skill development, fun and basic tactical concepts. 612 626 1321

Campers in After Care will receive a daily snack. Pickup will take place either in the Community Center or playground. Late fees will be incurred for pickup after 5pm.
