Albany Gems Summer Youth Dance Camp - Albany, OR
The Gems are hosting their 2nd Annual Summer Dance Camp on July 16-17th, 2016. This is a two day camp for 1st - 8th grade dancers of all abilty and skill levels. All classes will be held in the main facility at the Albany Boys and Girls Club. Both days will run from 8:00am - 3:00pm. This give LOTS of time for parents to get some stuff done while we entertain your kiddos! Classes will be split up by level and experience so that everyone is in a class they are comfortable with. Classes will be divided into Mini, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Class descriptions will be posted later in the comments. Dancers will stretch and warm up together, learn a entire camp dance, learn level appropriate dance routines, practice technical skills that apply to all dancers, and dancers will be given snack and lunch breaks both days. Latin Roots of English - Hopkins Campus
Ever wonder why a pedestrian is someone who travels by foot but a pediatrician is a childrens doctor? Knowing that pedestrian is from the Latin word pedes (foot) and pediatrician is from the Greek word pedia (child) will help you not only keep these common words straight, but also decipher more obscure words derived from the same roots. 65 percent of English comes from Greek and Latin. A solid foundation in the Greek and Latin roots of English provides skills to decode a word, often without looking it up. Not curious yet? Did you know that the prefix dis is from Latin meaning apart or away from, while the prefix dys is from Greek meaning bad? The prefix ante is Latin for before; anti is Greek for against. This class will provide you with the tools needed to boost your English vocabulary, avoid many common errors and raise your scores on the English and Reading portions of the SAT and ACT exams. Many of the class activities parallel typical questions on the exams, allowing for immediate application of these invaluable skills. Percussion - Band Camp 2016 - Natick High School
This week-long, intensive band experience is designed for middle school students who are entering grades 6-8 and have AT LEAST ONE YEAR of band experience. Led by Natick middle school band directors Scott Morrill and Dave Drapeau, sessions will be a blend of full band work and breakouts by instrument. Students will focus on skills and musicianship and work towards performing several songs as a full band by the end of the week. Little Aquanauts (Week 4 PM) - Wildlife Detectives - NESS
Follow clues to find the wildlife suspect of each day. Use microscopes, document cameras, and magnifying glasses as you journey to the NESS aquariums, tide pools, the shoreline, and into the Harbor on a boat. Costa Rican Jungle Animals Week 1 - Adat Ari El Day School
Explore the Majesty of Costa Ricas Jungle Animals & Learn Spanish Campers explore the dynamic jungle of Costa Rica. The colorful and intriguing animals are extraordinary and will magically ‘transport campers to the ‘jungle where it is super fun to speak Spanish. During this week campers get to build a large scale ‘time travel machine out of recyclable materials. Campers play active & quiet games, create, sing songs, act, dance, cook, play sports, and discover the joys of learning Spanish through various activities. Theme vocabulary includes colors, verbs, nouns, adjectives all about these animals and their unique features. CELEBRATION DAY: WEDNESDAY (always optional)- Go Wild Day Come to camp dressed in your favorite animal prints or animal tees. Apr 2016 Teen Clinic - GIRLS ONLY (Thu 5-6) - Eastlake Country Club
Series of four, 1-hour lessons for $140. Our teen clinics go beyond the basics of the golf swing. Emphasis is on the scoring part of the game: putting, chipping and pitching as well as full swing. Video analysis may be used to improve the swing. Rules and etiquette are also strongly emphasized. Intended for teens ages 13-17 (Minimum 4 students). PLEASE NOTE: There is a $3.95 non-refundable fee for registering online.
