Art Exploration FULL DAY Camp - Touchstone Elementary
Draw, paint and sculpt with clay in this popular camp week. Even if you took this last year, its new every summer! Explore skills in drawing, painting, and some hands-on clay! Well fill the week with a kaleidoscope of color and fun projects! Sample different art supplies and make a masterpiece with guided instruction. Each day has a different theme such as nature, animals, great artists, cultural projects, Art Pods (free-choice time for self-directed projects like mandalas, collage and printmaking), and a mini art show on Friday! Sports Camp week 4- Soccer - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of soccer camp, children will focus on the basic skills of soccer such as dribbling, passing, shooting and goal tending , as well as agility and foot-eye coordination. Goal tending will only be taught to those children who volunteer for this position. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship. The third hour of soccer camp will be spent discussing the various rules of soccer such as hand ball, pushing and tripping, and playing modified games of soccer. Clay Camp: Session 1/ Grades 6 - 8 Learn the basics of wheel-throwing on the pottery wheel and a variety of handbuilding techniques. Lessons include both functional objects created on the wheel and hand-built sculptural clay forms. Final projects will be completed using alternative outdoor firing processes including raku and smoke-firing.
