Come play yoga! During this simultaneously fun and calming week girls will learn about yoga, mindfulness training, and their selves. Each day we will move through yoga poses, sequences, and fun yoga games and crafts. Through yoga and mindfulness training students will begin to better understand themselves and the needs of those around them. We will work towards a positive self image and increased confidence through yoga and fun activities which allow one to care for the body. Each day will offer something new and fun such as manicures, henna tattoos, mandala coloring, and even mala making. The girls will keep their mala and be equipped with tools to continue their meditation work on their own. If you are looking for a fun week of crafts, games, learning, and relaxation this is the perfect camp for you! Rachel Wright is a passionate educator who seeks to help her students grow their understanding and compassion for the world, life, and humanity through the magnificent practice of theatre and yoga. ACT-OUT! Acting School proudly announces Our Seventh Annual Youth Summer Camp and Production of "Tom & Huck!" The Story of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn (all roles in "Tom & Huck!" are open, and may be cast to actors of any age 3-18, any race, or any gender). Since 2007, Act-Out! has been providing Bay Ridge & the Greater Brooklyn Area with world-class acting instruction at very affordable prices. We have served students of all ages and levels of experience, from beginners to Broadway veterans. Led by NYS-Certified drama teacher and Award-winning actor John Stillwaggon (see below for brief biography), students learn physical and vocal preparation, improvisation, line memorization, stagecraft, action/obstacle work, as well as character and scene analysis. Students and parents have reported vast improvements not only in acting ability, but in such life skills as conflict resolution, goal-setting, teamwork, discipline, memory, and self-esteem. At the close of the two-week camp (students meet for four hours each weekday), the student ensemble performs a full-length, original theatrical production. Programming includes nature crafts, music and singing, non-competitive group games and wet-n-wild water activities. This camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and provide lunch and a snack.
