Camp - Visual Arts S1 M-F 9:30 am (Ages 7-12) - Beck Center for the Arts
This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.Explore the world of visual arts and different mediums - painting, drawing, sculpturing, mask making, printmaking, and clay-while learning about different artists. Participate in designing and creating a clay tile mural that will be displayed at Beck Center. Students also have the opportunity to create individual clay projects. This camp is intensive in nature and divided into two classes per day. Participants should wear clothing that can get dirty during the creation of art. Supplies provided. 3 Weeks; Mon - Fri; 9:30 am - 12 pm; Tuition: $335; Bring a snack. A Campers Art Exhibition will take place on the final day of camp, July 1 at 11:30 am. August 1-11: Backpacking/ Digital Storytelling (Ages 13-16) - Mountain Kids!
We are psyched to bring our dual passions for getting into nature and documenting our adventures to Mountain Kids! Campers will spend the first day learning what it takes to makes a compelling video, composition and audio recording. Campers will then learn how to prepare and pack for a backpacking trip, the 6 Ws of preparing for any outdoor trip, map reading and leave no trace principles. We will spend time writing and creating stories on a two night backpacking trip. During the second week, campers will share their time between the recording studio, the computer lab and getting outside to create a 2-3 minute video of their adventures. On Thursday evening we will celebrate with a screening of their work. Equipment Needed: • Backpacking pack, sleeping pad, a sleeping bag, and a mess kit (bowl, fork, spoon, cup). Arcade Game Design - The Digital Arts Experience
Code your own arcade game and design your own controller that works with it! The first half of this class will involve students coding their own old school arcade style game from scratch. Think something like Spade Invaders, Galaga, Pong and more! Then, well have the students work with Arduino UNOs & breadboards and use physical programming to wire their own controller to work with the game. Finally, students will design their very own case for their controller that we will print out using our 3D Printers! Come both physical and digital programming for this interactive class where students will be able to show off their games and controllers to friends and family! **Please note**: We have Arduino UNOs & breadboards for the students to use as their controllers for the duration of the class but they will need to be returned at the end. After the first few weeks of class, however, we will offer the option to order an Arduino Starter Kit ($99) for the students so that they will be able to work on their own units and take home with them. Middle School Math explores Pre-algebra and problem-solving designed to develop understanding of concepts and skills in preparation for the study of algebra. This course meets for 1-hour per day and is combined with Middle School English for a 2-hour program. Middle School English focuses on the careful reading of quality literary texts. This course will help improve reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and written composition. 2016 Elite Soccer ID Camp - Dr Dan DeLoache Field
Residential Elite Camp Coach Rob Czlonkas Elite Camp is by far one of the most exciting camps we offer. This camp attracts players looking to take their game to the next level. During this camp players will focus on both the technical and tactical sides of the game. Players will be shown how to improve their individual foot work as well as how to read the game and react accordingly. In the end, this camp gives each player an inside look as to what it takes to play competitive college soccer and more specifically what its like to be a member of the NSU Mens Soccer Team. NSU coaches will be providing primary instruction and evaluation however various other college coaches representing a wide ranging of programs from Junior college to NCAA Division I maybe in attendance as guest instructors. Goalkeeper Academy As Part of the Advanced and Elite Camps, this camp is designed around the specialized training of Keepers that is required for the players positional development. This will prepare goalies that are passionate about the position for what the college game requires.
