Viola: Middle School String - University of Texas at Austin
The Middle School String Orchestra Camp is open to entering grades 7, 8 or 9. The two orchestras are conducted by exemplary specialists in middle school orchestral music. Visual Arts: From the homeland to the battlefront, art was used during WWII to promote duty and patriotism, capture historical moments and even as tactical strategy. Youll be stepping into the boots of the wartime poster artists behind the iconic Uncle Sam I Want YOU and Rosie the Riveter designs, combat artists that recorded the war firsthand and abstract artists that developed eye-manipulating military camouflage. Comedy: Abbott & Costello reigned as the 1940s "Kings Of Comedy," producing box office hits including "Buck Privates," "Hold That Ghost, and their 1948 monster masterpiece "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein." 1st-4th grade: American Doll and Etiquette Camp - Saint Marys School
Etiquette and good manners is all about kindness, consideration and truthfulness. This camp will celebrate young girls and all that they can be. We will try to speak to their imagination and teach them the importance of friends and family. We will use Role Play and other fun activities to entertain, educate and inspire them. The Etiquette section will include: Memory Work; a written invitation; making proper introductions; using proper telephone etiquette. We will learn to make an appointment, make purchases and just ask questions. We will set a proper table, drink hot tea from a teacup and eat hot soup with a spoon. Finally, we will help set up a proper Tea Table for our Graduation Tea. During this week of camp we will enjoy our dolls and even choose our own Doll of the Year. As we study good character traits, we will try to spark their imagination and teach them the importance of family and friends as we name and develop our very own Doll of the Year, we will write a short book about her. Climbing Camp - Advanced - Breckenridge Recreation Center
So youve been through our Beginner and Intermediate Climbing Camps and you still cant get enough? Then this camp is for you! We spend the first two days on the climbing wall learning some new skills and refreshing others from 8:00am-12:00pm. On Thursday and Friday, we depart Summit County for Independence Pass and Monitor Rock in beautiful Lake County for full days of climbing. On Thursday and Friday, campers depart Breckenridge at 8:00am and return to the Recreation Center at 4:00pm. All participants are responsible for lunch each day and are required to have a backpack, sunscreen, plenty of water (2L or more), rain gear and extra layers. No camp on Wednesdays. Four-day camps are offered in two sessions running June 20-July 29. To register for this program, participants must have attended an Intermediate Climbing Camp within the past 3 years or must receive approval from a Climbing Wall Instructor or the Outdoor Programs Coordinator.
