Animal Trainer/Zoo Keeper Camp (In Depth) July 13th & July 27th 9am – 4pm $95 Ages 11+ Led by one of our animal keepers, this in-depth experience is for the older students who are serious about learning about animal husbandry and medical care of animals. Space is limited for this course as students will get to tour around the facility and learn specific information and needs of our animal collection. Students will get to not only encounter animals in our behind the scenes animal room, but to assist with animal care, food prep, cleaning. The camp will get to put together an animal enclosure for one of our animals by working together as a team. Students learn to train an animal and even make an enrichment toy for our animals. Haven Place Youth Camp (July 31 thru Aug. 7). 7th-12th graders will be staying at Haven Place. Only $30.00 per person 8 days 7 nights. Registreation due by July 2oth. Last year we had 28 attend. Boys will be in tents outside with the adults on watch and the Ladies will be inside with the adult Ladies. They will be mentored by College age students who will be volunteering their time during the mission week. There will be at least four other key adults to chaperone this event. The week will consist of quiet time with the Lord, learning team building skills, sacrificial service to the community and learning to use their God given talents. There will be a praise and worship band, speaker and fun activities planned during the week. Each student will be going to various work sites. Each work site may have different projects, such as light construction, painting, clean up, landscaping, etc....In the afternoons students will be leading a community kids camp which will located at Haven Place. General Information/Standard of Conduct -Arrival: Camp check in will begin at 12:00 PM on Monday afternoon. Please try to arrive no later than 4:30 PM -Meals: All meals are included in the price of registration. -Departure: Camp will end Friday after the morning chapel -Lost and Found: Items not claimed after 30 days will be discarded. -Schedule: All Campers are to follow the camp schedule for their enjoyment, safety, and accountability to camp staff. -Camp nurse: A registered nurse will be on duty at all times. The curriculum includes a daily writing activity that will focus on grade appropriate writing skills and a creative art activity related to each book we read. We will also spend time outside playing games that will build positive friendship skills. Each day will include a snack, lunch and pool time. DeAnna Huffines graduated from Saint Marys in 1983 from high school and 1985 from College. She then attended Meredith College where she majored in education.
