Each week we will play a variety of outdoor sports designed to advance basic skills and knowledge of all sports activities for the campers. This class also helps campers to learn good sportsmanship while learning about the games, and score of the sport. Theres also indoor board games they get to play and learn from. This Lutheran Bible Camp is one of the oldest summer camps in America. It was founded in 1926, and is my daughter’s favorite camp. She has fun meeting other youth while strengthening her faith. She also enjoys swimming, arts and crafts and singing around the camp fire. Fencing: European Foil - Old Trail School
Campers will learn the ancient art of fencing beginning with the modern version of the court sword. Campers will learn basic foot drill, parry drill, and attacks. Physical skills in agility, coordination and fitness will be emphasized. Rules, scoring and judging, tactics and strategy are part of the fencing mental skills developed as well. Campers will sharpen concentration and alertness, reaction and evaluation. Sparring is safe and fun. Required equipment will be furnished. Minimum of four children. Chess Academy during camp week #3: June 27 - July 1 - Germantown Friends School
National-championship coach Ross Colby will be offering two weeks of intensive chess instruction at Germantown Friends School. Ross has either played on or coached teams that have won national championships in Arizona, North Carolina, & Pennsylvania! Players at this years camp will participate in intensive strategy sessions, tournament games, daily award ceremonies, simultaneous exhibitions, and a speed tournament. At the end of the five-day camp, participants will enjoy a pizza fest and final awards ceremony.
