No parent wants to hear that their child has diabetes. But when you learn that it is manageable you carry on. That doesn't mean letting them go to camp was an easy decision. But once we visited with the staff at Camp Discovery we knew our girl was going to be supervised and look after by counselors who understood the challenges of living with diabetes. I was actually impressed with how many of the staff also share the ailment. It made it all feel very special.
