Scratch is dynamic and intuitive programming software that enables students to animate scenes, create interactive games and more. Students will learn and review basic programming principles and design creative animations and simple, fun games. They will explore how variables, lists and sensing blocks can create more complex, interactive programs. The Birchmont Fun Fest
They call is the 'Birchmont Experience' on their website. I call it the Birchmont Fun Fest because that's just what our two kids went through. Although they are only a year apart you would think they grew up in separate cities. What amazed me is how close they became. That was worth the price of admission! Get out of the Heat for One Day to Serve Teen Moms at Younglives Camp
Spa Day is an annual event at YoungLives Camp for Teen Moms and Babies. For many of these girls, this will be the first time they are cared for in this manner, and we need a lot of help to make it happen! Volunteers are needed from 10:30-2:30 & lunch will be provided. No experience necessary. Once you get there, we will assign you to a station, so note your special skills or area you'd like to help: Facial Massage Body scrub kit creating Nails What a great opportuity to get out of the heat, and enjoy the beautiful property of Lost Canyon while serving young moms. This FREE community event and backpack giveaway promotes health nutrition & wellness gearing kids up for back to school by stimulating their minds and bodies to grow and effect our community in a positive way and teaching them how to make the right decisions with their body so they can make great decisions in the classroom. Youth will receive a free haircuts, lunch and a book bag with supplies donated by local businesses and the Dept. of Recreation (while supplies last). Activities include: Get fit wit Jay: Field games and Fitness; bounce house, dunk tank, flag football, mini basketball tournament, sack races, calisthenics demos for kids and adults and much more. The Hope Soccer Day Camp is designed for players of various ages and ability levels. Campers ages 6 to 14 choose the Hope Soccer Day camp for the fun and educational experience that focuses on developing fundamental skills, teamwork and developing a love for the game of soccer. Players attending the camp are divided into groups by age and ability level. This structure allows the coaching staff to create a learning environment that challenges each child with appropriate instruction and engaging game environments. The adventurous humans uncover vegetarian vampires and rock n roll werewolves, gradually realizing there may be more to these monsters than meets the eye! Most importantly these monsters and kids discover the importance of friendship and celebrating in the attributes that make each of us different and unique.
