Young Builder (HALF DAY ONLY) - San Juan Del Rio Catholic School
This is the HALF DAY option for Young Builder. Campers ages 4-5 will want to join us to learn exciting construction techniques using LEGO® bricks. Little Builder allows campers to take their first steps into science and engineering. By using the themes of construction and travel, campers learn about machines, the tools used to work on machines, and their functions. Our material packs include a wide range of bricks and special elements in various shapes, sizes, and colors that are ideal for stimulating childrens creative and imaginative skills. Camp counselors will introduce tasks each day in building vehicles, planes, buildings, towns and transportation systems as we work in groups to build a LEGO city! Campers receive lots of suggestions for ideas but are encouraged to use their own creativity and imagination. Stories and games are also incorporated into this camp, perfect for our youngest little campers, ages 4 and 5. Our pre-k half day camps are 9am-1pm with pre camp options available as well! Summer Camp-Old Davie -Session 2 (ages 13-18) - Old Davie School
Old Davie School - Session 2 Only (July 18, 2016-August 12, 2016) Advanced levels of study in voice and diction, character analysis, scene study, dialects, styles and methods. Show: Pippin Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield and the intrigues of political power. In the end, though, he finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the un-extraordinary moments that happen every day. Performance: Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. This camp is designed for campers who are: Ages 13 to 18 who are at a moderate level of experience. This camp is offered at Broward Center for the Performing Arts and Old Davie School only. Requirements: *Campers must be between 13 and 18 years of age (13 year-olds must be entering at least 8th grade in the fall). *Campers must fully participate in a 7 hour day, 4 week program. *Campers will have the opportunity to earn community service hours for assisting with younger campers. Comedy Club 3-5 (Monday) - Janney Elementary School
Whether your child is a real ham or standup comedian, they will love this class. Improvisation games, made up characters, silly settings, and ridiculous problems to solve, they will use it all to make the audience crack up! This class is perfect for the shy student who needs to be comfortable in front of the class or the class clown who has some wacky characters up their sleeves. Students will participate in ensemble building, improvisation games, and exercises to stretch their imagination as they develop skills to think on their feet.
