Fall Teen Adventure Weekend - West Branch, MI
Canoe trip on the Au Sable River with overnight lodging at YMCA Camp Timbers. Co-ed, ages 13-17. Join YMCA Camp Timbers staff for a TEEN ADVENTURE WEEKEND canoeing the Au Sable River! The weekend begins with a Friday night stay at Camp Timbers before launching on the Au Sable River Saturday morning. After spending Saturday canoeing the river, participants return to Camp Timbers in the evening to enjoy S’mores around a campfire. The weekend ends with debriefing, unpacking, and a sampling of adventure activities at camp on Sunday. Cost is $75 for Y members and $90 for non-members and includes: meals, lodging, use of canoeing gear, transportation between Camp Timbers and the Au Sable River, and programming. Campers will learn the basics of 3D game design, including models, textures, volumes, lighting, and more as they create their game from start to finish. During camp, campers will use real game design principles as they design their game on the X, Y and Z axes to create an immersive 3D world. Do you enjoy telling stories with pictures? Do you love looking at childrens books and picture books? If the answer is yes, then youll love Illustration Camp. In this week long camp, we will learn about the process of illustrating a story. We will discover our imaginations, learn basic techniques, and develop an understanding of designing characters. Teresa Assenzo is an Instructor of Fine Arts at Saint Marys School. Ms. Assenzo has a B.F.A from Kendall College of Art and Design, an M.F.A. in Fine Arts from the California College of Arts and Crafts, and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. She has taught at Western Michigan University and has worked with children of all ages at art museums and institutes. Ms. Assenzo has also illustrated and published books for parents and children, has done free-lance writing, and has done art and writing with diverse groups of children and adults.
