Attitude: A Prairie Kids Boot Camp - The Prairie School
Do you like to be active? Do you want to be more active? Are you looking for an alternative to an organized sport, but still want to be part of a team? Are you interested in keeping in shape for a fall sport? Most of all, do you want to have fun? Then this high-energy boot camp is for you! If, that is, you have the right attitude. -- This boot camp is designed specifically for developing young bodies and minds, with a fun (and safe) mixture of body weight exercises, running and cardio, partner and group exercises, games and obstacle courses. All movements will help build coordination, balance, and motivation. Stretching before and after exercise is emphasized, and mindfulness and yoga techniques will be integrated each day. (And did we mention the music?) -- All participants need is a good pair of tennis shoes, comfortable workout clothes, a water bottle, and a positive attitude! No other equipment necessary. Rainforest Adventure Camp - NEW! Your child has the chance to embark on a "Rainforest Adventure" this summer. Campers combine art and engineering skills to conceive and construct the four layers of the rainforest. Walking the "camouflage trail" campers learn the importance of animal adaptation and what can be done to help protect our fragile ecosystems. On the last day, campers will present forest facts and escort their parents on an exciting rainforest tour. This fun-filled Monday-Friday camp is designed for your child to take part in eleven weeks of recreational activities, swimming, field trips and more. Camp is held out of the Meineke Recreation Center, 220 East Weathersfield Way. Extended care is also offered for an additional fee. Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch and suit everyday, unless specified. Parents will receive a detailed camp calendar prior to the start of camp. The BSSC ID Camp at GSU is intended for prospective student athletes who have the desire to play soccer at the collegiate level and beyond. Training sessions will be conducted by collegiate coaches with the purpose of replicating an everyday college training session. Enrollment will be limited and accepted on a first-served basis. Limit to 8 GKs per camp.
