Full-Day Newcomer Camp - Stanford University
The Full-Day Newcomer Camp is for those who want to spend a full-day with the Stanford Coaching Staff and college players learning the game of golf! The philosophy of the Newcomer Golf Camp is to introduce the game of golf to juniors aged between 5 and 12 with either no experience or a couple of years of instruction. Campers will learn the fundamentals of the game in a safe, fun and stimulating environment. Instruction will be given at a pace intended to maintain the attention of campers and at the same time be appropriate for each individuals skill level. Active and energetic instructors will lead the youngsters through a series of games and exercises that will develop confidence and passion for the game. Groups will be organized by current skill level. The camp environment is designed to allow participants to meet other young golfers and help foster an enthusiasm and passion for the game. Maître darmes Guillaume Béchaux, has been teaching fencing for 20 years and brings a personal attention to each of his students. Guillaume managed numerous school groups and clubs in France and trained the French wheelchair Olympics team for Athens and Bejiing. The program will develop analytic capabilities and dexterity through a combination of pedagogical games, technicals exercises, tactical exploration and an understanding of the importance of time and space. Fencing is the art of quick reflexes, elegant and athletic movements and mental acuity.
