Campers week will be full of exciting, structured activities sure to interest both new and returning campers. Each day, the true camp experience begins as staff leads the group in fun, lively camp games and songs. Week #3: July 11-15: Matter Madness! What happens when you freeze a bubble, set air on fire or expose your latest crazy concoction to heat? …Lets try it out! Scientists in this class will get to know first-hand that summer is the best time of year to study matter. We will learn about how clouds forms and use air resistance to slow down an egg dropped from 13 feet. Tiny Cartesian divers show us how air behaves under pressure, well figure out how to get an egg into a bottle without breaking it and study heat transfer while we turn liquids into tasty treats! Spring Break Camp II - RFK Stadium
D.C. Uniteds Spring Break camps provide participants aged 5 – 16 to experience an exciting soccer environment consisting of modern camp exercises, high-level skills demonstrations, and small-sided competitions. Campers will be exposed to a different set of technical and tactical focuses each day of camp. Coaches will work with players to develop their technical ability as well as discover a better understanding of the game in a fun and energetic environment. All participants will receive an official D.C. United camp ball, an official camp t-shirt, a ticket voucher to a D.C. Special Effects-Gayton Baptist - Gayton Baptist Church
This is the first camp ever offered by Club SciKidz! Newly revised and more exciting than ever, campers learn the science behind Hollywoods special effects. Activities will demonstrate concepts related to light, sound, perception, illusion, and model building. One of the great features of this camp is that all campers will create (and take home!) a movie using techniques in Claymation and Stop-Motion Animation. Lessons include plot development, story boarding, set building, filming, and sound effects. Campers will also learn various special effects make-up techniques working with the same materials used by professional make-up artists. They will simulate cuts, bruises, artificial blood, and old age. Is there a future movie director living in your house? This is a camp your child wont want to miss! I Troop Camping May 6, 7 & 8 - Sandy Ridge
Spend some time camping with your Girl Scout Troop at Sandy Ridge! Price includes accommodations at Sandy Ridge. Troop is responsible for food and programming during their stay. Troop leaders are required to have specific trainings to camp overnight with their Troop at Sandy Ridge. Please contact Michaela Watts at 843-552-9910 ext. 2390 or for more information on training. Troops must have approval by GSESC to overnight camp at Sandy Ridge. A Trip Approval Form must be submitted to your Regional Volunteer Services Specialist (VSS) at least three weeks prior to reservation date.
