Form a team to face the challenge of our extreme expedition camp. Search the globe for bricks and other resources needed to construct a base in the Himalayan Mountains and complete your expedition. Encounter Worst Case Scenario survival challenges, face forces of nature, and construct transportation equipment to bring your team together from around the globe. Do you have what it takes to face extreme brick adventures? You are guaranteed 4 games plus shenanigans. Camping Friday and Saturday are encouraged. Basically: Drive up Friday evening, camp, Play all day Saturday, camp/party Sat night, and go back to the real world Sunday morningish. You can expect camping, ultimate, sideline shenanigans, ferry rides, crafts, Nana Hoover, and new friend making. Start with five minute gesture drawings and work up to extended studies of real life objects. Epidemiology: Disease Investigation - NCSSM Durham Campus
So long as humans have existed on this planet, microbes have coexisted with us. Theyve lived in our bodies and thrived in the environment, posing a silent and constant threat. Theyve caused fevers and panic, helped with digestion and immunity. In this introductory course in human microbial disease, students will be introduced to the impact that various microbes have had in our lives. Students will learn the principles and methods of disease investigation: investigating patterns of illness in populations, identifying infectious microbes by visual assessment, mode of infection, and symptoms. Students will be able to identify the characteristics of various pathogens and infectious agents, be able to explain how diseases spread, and will construct models, create presentations, and collaborate on projects related to epidemiol 919-416-2635
