HHS Football Youth Camp - Hughson, CA
Hughson High Football is hosting a Youth Camp. This camp provides a great opportunity for the youth in Hughson, 7 to 14 yrs old to learn the needed football skills to be successful. Participants will be coached by both the Hughson High Football coaching staff and the Hughson High Varsity Football Players. The camp will also end with some friendly competitions between teams. 8 Day Intensive Training Camp - McDermont Field House
Technique Portion: Coach John Azevedo covers his fundamental inside tie series that he made famous at Calvary Chapel and also at Cal Poly. Also covered: fundamental escapes from the bottom, Recovery and sit outs & Top rides. Intensive Training: Coach Matt Azevedo will once again run our Intensive portion of this session. They will focus on teaching conditioning and weight training along with how to sustain proper nutrition and mental focus at elite levels. Folk Art Around The World with Nellie Shevelkina Go Global! Learn about different cultures through their arts. We will travel from Africa to the Americas, Europe to Asia, Australia and in between discovering traditional folk arts from around the world. Explore the history, techniques, and special meanings of various crafts while noticing similarities and differences in their designs, patterns, and styles. We will create mosaics, painted and printed fabrics, sand paintings, mask making, paper maché figurines, paper cutouts, clay whistles, just to name a few. Students are encouraged to research their own cultural and ethnic backgrounds and proudly share these artistic traditions with the class. Fun with Metal with Connie Pfeiffer Make jewelry and mini-sculpture with copper sheet metal and wire to wear or hang. Stamp, fold, hammer, bend, cut, twist and even heat metal to create pendants, medallions and forms from nature such as pea pods and leaves. Students will explore using basic hand tools, especially hammers, mallets, cutters, files, pliers and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to create works in metal.
