Spring Break - Camp Dragonfly, ages 8-12 - Marinwood CSD
Get a taste of summer at our Spring Break Camp! Our camp counselors are dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for children to interact, meet new friends and participate in exciting camp activities. Campers will spend their day at the park, playing dodgeball, creating art masterpieces and going down the waterslide at our pool. Join us for an exciting week of camp games, sports, swimming and more! Please bring a sack lunch, snacks, water, swim suit, towel and sunblock to camp daily. Come join the fun! Only need a day or two of camp? We take drop-ins! Drop-ins are dependent on space availability and are $45 per day. There are no sibling discounts for drop-ins. Please register for drop-in days through the Community Center office. Drop-ins for Before Care is $8 per day and After Care is $15 per day. Engineering - Build It! - Middle School
This course is being offered in conjunction with the Webb Institute in Glen Cove: a private engineering college that offers a dual major in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Students work individually or in teams to design and build a boat that serves a specific mission. Each team is given a list of materials and then must collaborate on the design and construction of their boat. Student volunteers from Webb will assist the teams in applying engineering and physics to enhance the design of their projects. The week culminates with a field trip to the Webb Institute, where students get to test their construction skills under various conditions, tour their amazing facility, and visit the Robinson Model Basin to put their designs to the test by completing numerous challenges. British Soccer - Mini Soccer - Prairie Center Park
Locally owned, Challenger Sports runs the largest number of soccer camps in the United States. Challenger will coach over 80,000 players throughout the U.S each year. Olathe Parks & Recreation has teamed up to host the week long British Soccer Camp during the week of May 31-June 3 at Black Bob Park, June 27-30 at Prairie Center Park and then again July 25-29 at Black Bob Park. We have incredible coaches with neat accents who make learning fun! We recruit the best coaches in the business and we are about every child having a good day every day! The Challenger Way focuses on challenging players to improve with maximum participation, maximum touches on the ball and maximum fun. Simply put, no line drills, no long speeches and lots of encouragement. Each of our coaches hold a national coaching license from Great Britain and are trained specifically for the British Soccer Camp program. Lafayette HSA Enrichment Program - Lafayette HSA Enrichment Program
The Home and School Association is proud of LEP, a program for managing afterschool enrichment at Lafayette. The HSA will not directly operate any specific afterschool offerings, but will oversee and centralize the process of registration, attendance and program conformance to all DCPS mandates for using school facilities. Classes vary in content and approach to accommodate different learning styles and interests as well as covering a variety of ages. Enrichment programs aim to allow kids to experiment, take risks, learn new skills, make new friends and develop confidence to succeed inside and outside the classroom. Please note: Applicable Discounts will be calculated automatically AFTER you hit the checkout button. There is 50% Multi-week discount applied to the 4th and 5th week tuition when you register for 4 or more weeks. There is also a sibling discount of 10%. Early Bird registration of 10% if registered by April 1, 2016. Daily Snack is included, Lunch is available for $5 per day- you will be sent menu options at a later date. Our Aventureros will put on their backpacks, gather their passports and off they will go on their Summer Classroom Adventure! This is a perfect way for current HoLa and other bilingual students to support the Spanish they have acquired and a wonderful way for incoming HoLa students to ease into a fun, stress-free Spanish immersion experience. The program will be overseen by HoLa Aftercare Director Margarita Garcia and HoLa faculty. Children will engage in multicultural games, physical activities, crafts, art, music, dance and other local adventures that will be aligned to the introduction and strengthening of Spanish Language Arts, creative writing and mathematics skills.
