This camp is a great way for kids to learn Spanish while having fun. Campers will immerse themselves in the Spanish language through song and dance, arts, and crafts, games, and more. All activities will be conducted in Spanish and students will be encouraged to only use Spanish throughout the day. Art Potpourri Ages 12-15 - Goleta Presbyterian Church
No class on the 4th of July! Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture! No theme, just great fun creating wonderful pieces of artwork while using a mixture of artist quality materials including clay, watercolor, paint, soft pastels, oil pastels, Art Stiks, illustration markers, Aqua Stiks, and more! Try your hand at Zentangle patterns, printmaking and collage to create mixed media and 3D designs. As students work in these different media components, they will culminate in self-discovery and creation of original art projects with a distinctive flair! Bring lunch, snack and water. Bump, set, SPIKE! Boys and girls will both enjoy this lifetime sport by learning the proper techniques for serving, passing, setting and hitting on the hard court. At the end of each day, new skills are applied in a game setting, and effective teamwork and good sportsmanship are emphasized. Campers should wear comfortable clothing for movement, tennis shoes, and knee pads (optional). All registrants agree to the policies and procedures of Youth Programs, including change fees, cancellation fees, deadlines, and other details found in the program materials and parent handbook. Nature School- Session 5 - Chico Creek Nature Center
Nature School is a first learning experience in nature. It is a drop off program designed for Pre K, TK and Kindergartners. Young first graders may also enjoy this class. All children should be potty trained and ready for an experience away from their family. Our teachers are happy to help facilitate "goodbyes" as is often needed with this age. Children learn about nature, letters, numbers, colors and shapes through crafts, songs, games, animal visits and guided exploration of the park. The teacher is trained in and uses curriculum from Growing Up Wild that meets state standards in science, literacy, math, art and STEM. Each class has a different theme. For optimum learning a full year of participation is encouraged. Classes are broken into 6 Wednesday sessions. Limited to 16 students with a ratio of 1 teacher to 8 children. The program runs 11am to 2pm. We recommend your family joins us for Natures ABCs that is 10 to 11am to help in the drop off transition. Imagine the great cities of the world and their monumental and powerful architecture. We will create our own architectural firm for the chance to build things in 3D: a hockey rink, football stadium, golf course, art gallery, a museum, a roller coaster theme park, an aquarium, or even the great Roman Coliseum! As future architects, learn about perspective drawing and go outdoors to draw the architecture of Cary Academy. For the grand finale, our creative engineering skills will be challenged with the classic egg drop project where teams design a device to protect an egg from a 15 foot drop as campers from other summer programs watch the competition and cheer us on! 919-677-7839
