Teen Summer Garden Camp - Carlisle, PA
Cumberland County, PA – New this summer, a horticulture program designed just for teens! Join the Master Gardeners of Cumberland County for their first-ever Teen Summer Garden Camp on two Mondays, June 20 and June 27, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Held at the Penn State Extension Office in Carlisle and the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA, this fun-filled camp offers teens ages 13-15, or in grades 7-9, the ability to explore and discover the “behind-the-scenes” of a garden. The first camp session on June 20 offers teens the opportunity to delve deeper into horticulture topics and engage in hands-on learning about the scientific method, photosynthesis, chromatography, soils, microscope skills, and plant identification. Teens will also build their very own gourd birdhouse. Come prepared for plenty of exploration, observations, activities and discussions! For the second camp session on June 27, teens will travel to the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA. Campers will take a wagon tour across the research farm, explore thousands of annual and perennial flowers, visit the Idea Gardens, and create a colorful bandana using vegetable dyes. PowerHouse Regional Youth Conference - Milford, IN
The PowerHouse regional youth conference will return to Camp Mack again this year, providing a weekend of worship, workshops, music, recreation, and more for senior high youth in the Midwest and their advisors. The Church of the Brethren BVS and Workcamp staff will provide leadership for the weekend on the theme "Plug In: to God, each other & the world" based on 3 John 1:13-14. Cost is $80 for youth, $70 for advisors and will go up $10 if you register after October 21. Registration is LIVE at www.manchester.edu/powerhouse. Middle School - Week 3 - Orlando Campus
General Camp Information: Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration Fee: $220 Includes: Five full days of camp, a field trip, activities, materials, daily snacks, and a camp T-shirt. Campers are required to bring a bag lunch each day. Where and When: Our Summer Camp will be held at our Orlando facility in our Education Center room. Campers will be able to enter through the Education Center door which is located to the left of the Business Office and Clinic entrances. Camp staff will be greeting campers between 8:30 and 9:00a.m. Please be prompt! On field trip days, we may be leaving as little as 15 minutes after camp begins.
