Through workshops, clinics, and private instruction, our comprehensive camp experience is designed to hone music performance and ensemble skills in a creative and fun environment. We know from experience that playing in a band situation speeds learning and creates “seasoned” musicians. Even relatively advanced musicians are amazed at the amount of progress they make when regularly playing with other musicians. CHESS IN BROOKLYN Chess Master Shawn Martinez will teach campers of all abilities this classic board game of strategic skill. Everyone, from chess enthusiasts to campers who dont know a pawn from a rook, is welcome. Chess is not only a fun game to learn, it helps children tremendously with focus, concentration, and critical thinking. Sous Chef - Goleta Presbyterian Church
Price includes $45 lab fee. Does your camper enjoy watching Chopped or Iron Chef?" on T.V? Using recipes from around the world, Sous Chef is a perfect adventure for any child who loves to eat and wants to learn to cook! Activities and cooking experiments allow aspiring chefs to explore the science behind cooking and try different foods, while learning cooking basics. Chefs will bake, prep food, follow a recipe, stir-fry, use a slow cooker, sauté, churn butter, discover changes in food properties, and make ice cream. This is a course for beginning "Chefs", and will include a variety of healthy entrees with chicken or beef, salads, vegetarian dishes, breads, and low sugar desserts! 805-570-1988
Cavalier Battalion Airsoft - 3 weeks - Airsoft @ The Heights
Experience airsoft Heights style! Acres of woods, forts, and airsoft battles: a recipe for a one of a kind camp experience. Each day the boys will be engaged in a different themed airsoft battle/game, while learning team building and leadership skills. At the start of camp the boys will be divided into brigades, these will be their brothers in arms for the remainder of the week. The brigades first challenge will be to take and pass a gun safety course, where the boys will learn how to properly and safely handle an airsoft weapon. After that the fun begins. The boys will be building their own fortifications that they will be defending each day. Battles will include: elimination, capture the flag, lone survivor among others. Each brigade will also compete in airsoft challenge games which include marksmanship, quick draw, target discernment, just to name a few. Throughout the week the boys will likewise learn about some of the greatest battles and military heroes of our time. Cost includes 5,000 rounds of ammunition. To bring: Airsoft weapon, safety goggles and mask. These can also be rented for the week. $75 for the weapon $20 for safety goggles and mask. Long sleeves... 301-365-4300
