Building a Light-Controlled Synthesizer - MacRostie Art Center
Work with composer, instrument builder, and educator, Troy Rogers to create a light-controlled synthesizer. Can be taken individually, or in conjunction with the Musical Robots workshop. All materials provided by instructor: each student leaves with a functioning light-controlled synthesizer they built during the workshop. Students will also have the opportunity to particcipate in a performance that evening at 7 pm, open to the public, at MacRostie Art Center! Ages 13 – 17. 218-326-2697
Ashland University Mens Soccer Camp - Old Trail School
Coaches from the Mens Soccer program at Ashland University, lead by Head Coach Oliver Slawson, will focus on skill development for young soccer players. Campers will learn soccer skills and techniques through exercises and games specifically designed for young players. Campers are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace, under the careful guidance of Ashland Mens Soccer Coaching staff and players. Coach Slawson was a 10-year Assistant Coach at The University of Akron and Director of the Akron Soccer Camps, prior to becoming the Head Coach at Ashland University in January 2016. Having developed thousands of campers and youth players in Northeast Ohio, Coach Slawsons Ashland Camp will be a fun and interactive week of soccer, where campers will experience technical development with the emphasis always on fun and learning through individual and small group training activities & games! Get ready to investigate different animals, some of their special adaptations, and the care necessary to keep them healthy. Highlights include a field trip to the Lehigh Valley Zoo and a visit from The Wildlands Conservancy with some exotic animals. Each day, kids in Circus Camp learn new parts of various circus stunts ranging from juggling to baton twirling to balloon acts to much more. Also teaches students confidence in public speaking and instructs how to develop a stage presence that they never had before. At the end of the week on Friday, the kids provide a show open to the parents and anyone else from the public.
