Cardinal Volleyball Camp For Students currently in 6th-7th grade (15-16) Alexandria Area High School Auxiliary Gym. The Cardinal Volleyball Camp, run by the Cardinal coaches, is a great way to start learning the skills and expectations of the 9-12 program. We will touch on the very basic components of individual skill and progress toward exposure to more advanced concepts that we implement at the varsity level. A variety of individual skills will be addressed including: basic passing form, defensive movement, serving approach footwork, blocking footwork and transition movement. Team concepts that will be touched on include: offensive and defensive systems, serve receive patterns and positive team interactions. This is your chance to get a jump-start on understanding what being a Cardinal volleyball player means both on and off the court. This year's theme is COMMISSION based on Isaiah 6:8 "And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” We have been saved, reedemeed, given a new identity as sons and daughters of the King. We have been COMMISSIONED to something greater than going through the motions of everyday life. Fashion Extravaganza - Thurgood Marshall Elementary
Design, make and wear your own fashion gear. This class will involve hand sewing, painting on fabric, jewelry design, fashion illustration, knitting, and learning to do fashion hairstyles. Your teacher, a fashion designer, will inspire you to try new things and express your personal style! Instructor: Britt Rynearson has been teaching art and design for 14 years and has worked extensively with students ages 3 to 18. She sold her own line of jewelry when she was 11 at local farmers markets! In the last few years Britt has taught for Cornish College of the Arts, Pratt Fine Arts Center, Gage Academy, Coyote Central, Centrum, and the Northwest School.
