Reading Dont let the summer pass you by without reading an exciting book! Using Readers Workshop research-based skills, campers learn and refine reading and comprehension skills. Children are assessed and instruction modified accordingly. Choose level books from our collection or bring your own favorite books. Our trained staff helps you read and understand the story, which increases your reading stamina. Children love to come into our reading space, that is set up for inviting activities! Our goals are to promote a positive attitude towards becoming a lifelong learner and help children gain confidence in their academic skills. What I loved about Ocoee was that my child had lots of things to do. She wanted to try archery, riding horses and she was excited about the art part of the camp. She spent a lot of time with good friends that she’s known through Camp Ocoee and they played a lot of volleyball and basketball, but she said they also tried the BMX and water sports portions of the camp. On April 19th @ 6PM we will be hosting a "fun"draiser at the Stray Cat Lounge in Clinton Township. $10 cover charge gets you a buffet style pasta dinner. There will be a 50/50 raffle and a Silent Auction. All monies raised will go to Kids Burn Camp at YMCA Camp Manitoulin. It takes $500 to send one kid to camp but the return on investment is priceless.

These projects will ROCK your childs world after the lights go out at night. You guessed it, all the projects we create in this camp will glow-in-the-dark! How cool is that? We will be working with a variety of different art supplies including clay, paint and other luminescent materials to create masterpieces your child will be ready to show off in the dark!
